About
With an 18-year career, Carolina Serdeira stands among the most expressive voices of contemporary Brazilian jazz.
Her music lives in the meeting point between samba, jazz and Brazilian song — blending harmonic sophistication and emotion in interpretations that honor gesture, silence and the power of words.
A singer, interpreter and cultural manager, Carolina has released four albums and one live DVD, and now presents her fifth work, Doce, which deepens her exploration of the samba-jazz language and the subtlety of Brazilian songwriting.
Beyond her artistic career, Carolina is the artistic director and founder of Beebop, a cultural agency behind projects such as the Jazz Brasil Festival, the Women in Music Symposium, and the Minas Gerais Instrumental Music Award — initiatives that reflect her commitment to democratizing access to culture and strengthening Brazil’s musical scene.
Doce
Doce (Sweet) is Carolina Serdeira’s fifth album — and the most intimate of her career.
Between samba and jazz, the artist dives into a territory of delicacy and strength, where each song is born as a gesture of affection and reunion.
The album is woven through themes such as love, memory and time — not as nostalgia, but as a path of healing and reinvention.
It reveals a more mature, whole Carolina, who sings silence, breath and the movement of life with the sweetness of someone who recognizes beauty in impermanence.
With musical direction and arrangements by Rafael de Sousa, the record reaffirms the aesthetics of contemporary Brazilian jazz, intertwining sophisticated harmonies with Brazilian rhythms and the expressive sensibility of song.
More than an album, Doce is a crossing — an invitation to listen with all the senses: to touch, to scent, to remember, and to savor everything in life that still remains sweet.
